Discover Business Academy

Are you interested in the world of business? The Discover Business Academy is a business summer course for students aged 12-14. It will introduce you to the fields of business, management, finance and economics, and will help you decide if these are subjects you’d like to pursue further.

Discover Business Summer School

Welcome to our Discover Business Academy! From setting up a new venture, to discovering the importance of marketing and social media, you’ll actively explore the business world in this two-week programme.

The course also introduces you to the basics of effective communication, corporate law, leadership, management and economics. The Discover Business course will suit you if:

  • You’re interested or considering studying leadership, law, business or economics
  • You’re interested in starting a social enterprise or business in the future
  • You’re considering a career in finance, business, management or law

Our Learning Philosophy

Our summer courses allow you to explore your subject in a hands-on way, because we don’t believe you can decide your future career path just by reading a textbook! On our Discover Business Academy you will:

How did young Zuckerberg set up Facebook from his bedroom? From big businesses to smaller start-ups, find out what determines the successes (and failures) of entrepreneurs.

What’s it REALLY like to be a business-person? Ask our Hero—a real entrepreneur—any question to see and get a feel of what the business world is really like.

Can you come up with an innovative idea and earn money from it? Test out your skills as you and your team mates conduct market research and design a marketing campaign around it.

My tutor for Business was really nice and he got to know every class member really well. The class sizes were small to receive a greater tutor focus individually, but big enough to have some well debated group discussions! The feedback he gave to me really helped in the development of my skills and he played a big hand in making me a more confident person, especially after the hands-on brand challenge! Scholastica has exceeded my expectations and I am glad to have made valuable memories which I will cherish forever! Mariam Dilber, UK
